6 tips to limit bad breath

5/5 - (1 vote)

Experts in the field say that the main source of bad breath could be food particles left in the mouth.

In this article I will give you some suggestions for eliminating those food particles that lead to bad breath or halitosis. These are:

  • Brush your teeth after eating. Specialists recommend people to brush after each meal. If there are situations when you can’t do this, I recommend chewing a sugar-free gum or rinsing your mouth for 30 seconds can help eradicate food particles from your mouth.
  • Another very good solution is to use dental floss at least once a day. Its role is to remove rotten food between the teeth.
  • Clean the back of the tongue: mucus, the result of posterior nasal drip, may decompose on the back of the tongue; and to remove it, you can use a tongue scraper or brush your tongue.
  • Drink water or chew gum. If your mouth is dry, then there will not be enough saliva to clean up food debris, and the smell will appear.
  •  Clean your dentures daily: they house food particles and bacteria.
  • Restrict food and beverages that cause bad breath. The most common foods are: onions, garlic, coffee and alcohol.

In conclusion, if you suffer from this problem, I recommend you go to the doctor because it will help you solve this problem. Halitosis could be related to a disease such as periodontitis, a sinus problem, chronic bronchitis or a throat problem.
